The magazine's name is SMS. It is written in bold green letters in a text style font so that it stands out. There is also a slogan underneath the name saying, 'your magazine, your issues!' this would be on every issue, people will remember it and associate it with the magazine every time they hear it. The large feature image is in the center of the page and is of a school girl carrying her school essentials such as folders and her pencil case, this will stand out because the image is so big. The magazine uses rhetorical questions to tell the reader about the feature stories. 'Does homework really help?' people will want to know the answer therefore they will want to read the article to find out. There is no barcode on the front which may mean there is one on the back of the magazine. There is no page reference numbers on the front page of the magazine which means for the articles such as 'does school Council work?' the reader will have to turn to the contents page to find out what page its on. There are no other images on the cover other than the school slogan this makes the large feature image stand out more to the readers.
The magazine name is also at the top of the cover in bold blue letters it links in well with the school as the uniform is blue so the colour scheme for the magazine matches. there is a slogan under the title as there was in the other saying 'business and enterprise college' therefore when people hear this they will automatically think of Heath Park school. There is a big main picture that fills the whole front cover of a student who is in a lesson working, there is also smaller pictures but they do not associate with any of the feature stories its just the schools logo in the bottom corner. There is also no barcode which may mean like with the other magazine it could be on the back. They haven't used any rhetorical questions, it is a good way to make people read your magazine if you use rhetorical questions so this could be something to improve on next time. They also haven't used any page number references this helps the reader turn straight to the article they want to read, so this could be something else they could use next time. They have however mentioned feature stories such as 'my Heath Park aspiration' which draws the readers attention to that article.
